Brno – Getting Around
Air
Brno-Tuřany airport (BRQ) lies just 7.5km from Brno city centre. It is well connected to London by low cost airlines and other European cities. The airport is well connected to the city by the 76 bus, which runs around every 30 minutes from before dawn to midnight. It can be caught at the main train station and also bus station. After midnight, the 89 night bus comes into effect, departing the train station every hour.
Buses and trams
Brno is well served by an extensive 800 strong bus, tram and trolleybus network by Brno Municipal Public Transport. Transport runs regularly until 11pm, when a reduced night bus service comes into effect.
For inner city travel, tickets are issued on a journey time basis, from short transfers of 10 minutes, through to 60 minutes. Buses and trams run regularly and tickets are very reasonably priced.
Tickets for the wider Moravian region are issued in zones, and ticket prices vary according to how many zones are travelled through.
Rail
Brno’s main railway station is one of the oldest in the country. It is an important station on the main route that connects Prague with Vienna and Budapest, so pan international travel is quick and efficient. Pendolino tilting trains also serve Brno.
Taxi
A number of taxi companies operate around Brno that can be hailed through the city should you miss your night bus. It is advisable to agree a price before you set out.
